How To Choose The Right Office chair

One of the first things you must think about when deciding to purchase an office chair is the amount of time that you will be spending sat on it for each day. There are a lot of standard options which come with most office chairs now days such a seat height adjustment, lumbar support adjustment. One of the most important features that you should look for in any office chair is that it has good lumbar support as this will help with relieve the stress to your lower back caused by sitting for long periods of time.

On some chairs you may find that the lumbar support can be adjusted which helps to provide support for whoever uses the chair, as not everybody is the same. If you are able to, purchase an office chair that has a tilt mechanism provided as it is felt a slightly reclined seating position is a more comfortable than someone being sat bolt upright and thus putting further stress on the body. By placing your chair in a more reclined position you are less likely to end up with long term back problems.

You may find that some chairs that have the tilt mechanism also come with locking positions which help the user to recline in to the correct position for any task they are doing at that time. Another feature which you may find of benefit, but unfortunately is usually only found in the more expensive models on the market is an option called synchro knee tilt. This option allows your feet to stay on the floor even if your chair is in the upright or reclined position. It must be remembered that if your chair is ergonomically correct your feet will stay flat on the floor at all times and thus helping to keep your spine in the right position.

What the synchro knee tilt mechanism does is that it reclines the feet of the user at a slower ratio than the back of the seat does. Next you may consider a headrest to be a useful feature especially for those taller users who may spend more time than the average worker reclining. You will find that most executive chairs have a high back feature where normal office chairs are usually provided in the standard mid back form. Remember when choosing a chair keep in mind how long each day you will be spending in it, your body type and the individual duties that you will be carrying out on a daily basis, which will hopefully help you to find the perfect office chair for you.
